Jamie Houghton is a poet, musician and teaching artist living in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. Her first two poetry collections were published in 2017 and 2020, and can be found here: Books

She taught poetry in Portland Public Schools though Literary Arts Writers in the Schools Program,Young Audiences Arts for Learning, The Warm Springs Museum, Crook Country High School, Bend High Teen Parent Program, Shepherd's House habilitation center and New Leaf therapeutic boarding school for girls.
She was a medical writer, writing training manuals for pharmaceutical sales reps from 2006-2009. She wrote book reviews for High Desert Journal and was a participant in the 2015/16 Young Audiences of Oregon and Southwest Washington Teaching Artist Studio. She designed and implemented the educational programs and curriculum for The Nature of Words in Bend, Oregon from 2008-2013. In 2013, she received a Artist Residency Fellowship through Playa Arts and in 2009 she was honored to receive a Most Accomplished Under 40 awards from Cascades Arts and Business News.
She was honored to play bass, sing, and write songs for over a decade with amazing musicians and bands from Vermont, Massachusetts and Oregon. Music
